The Microbial Warrior Experience: A Forensic Restoration Training Collaboration

The Dewald Academy of Drying is gearing up to host Microbial WarriorTM Experience in early 2022, facilitated by Jeff Jones. The first class will be Feb. 21-25 in Indianapolis.

The Microbial Warrior Experience is a 4 day hands-on course focusing on strategies for performing forensic restoration related to biohazard cleanup.

Jeff Jones, owner of BioSheen Services, Chuck Dewald III, owner of the Dewald Academy of Drying, and instructor Chris Laney joined the Restoration Today podcast to discuss this training opportunity, why hands-on training is vital in all aspects of restoration, and also why collaborations like this in the industry are a great thing for everyone. Forensic Restoration is the comprehensive remediation of microenvironments (buildings and structures) that are contaminated or suspected to be contaminated with biohazard materials.

Forensic Restoration includes, but is not limited to, the situations involving known and unknown infectious diseases and biohazardous materials, such as:

  • Crime and trauma scenes
  • Unattended deaths
  • Unsanitary dwellings and conditions
  • Hoarding – Bioterrorism
  • Human and biological material
  • Mass casualty events
