The sold-out 2024 RIA International Convention and Expo witnessed a remarkable gathering of over 1,240 professionals, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders from across the country, giving way to the incredible momentum and buzz the industry is currently generating. IICRC Mold Remediation Certification Required Under New Virginia Law 

Governor Glenn Youngkin of Virginia signed HB 1270 into law. The new legislation, which will go into effect July 1, 2024, makes it a violation of the Virginia Consumer Protection Act “to sell or offer for sale services as a professional mold remediator, to be performed upon any residential dwelling, without holding a mold remediation certification from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC).”  The bill passed both the Virginia Senate and House of Delegates unanimously. “Several legislators told me that improper mold remediation was a common subject of calls they receive
